Hidden History of Centre County
Artist: Jeff Mathison
Location: Centre Foundation, 1377 Ridgemaster Drive, State College, PA 16803
"Hidden History" shows both a wagon wheel and a couple of Indian projectile points beneath the surface of the stream. Also hidden is the underground view of Penns Cave. On the surface, my bench is about the pleasant mix of town, countryside and wildlife that can be found in the region. I produced an impressionistic map of Centre County on the back of the bench.
“I was intrigued by the problems involved in painting a 3 dimensional shape.”
